E-LIBRARY AND MULTIMEDIA CENTER
This is an integral part of the PUC hybrid Library program. The facility provides seating accommodation for 26 users. It provides access to the internet, a wide range of online journals and other multimedia information sources such as e-books, CD-ROM, CD’s, DVD’s. The entire library space has wireless network connectivity for users with laptops (that with appropriate wireless configuration) to hook onto the internet.
TERMS OF USE, E-LIBRARY
In order to ensure fair and effective usage of the resources at this center, access is regulated by the following rules.
- Use of the facility is for academic purposes only.
- Registered users are allocated time and a password by the library staff in charge
- Users must sign in and out any time they wish to use the facility.
- Use of the facility for word-processing or any office program is forbidden.
- Use of the facility for viewing pornography s forbidden and punishable by outright dismissal from the university.
- Printing services at the center is charged at a fee to be determined from time to time
- A user must log off the machine after use.
Library Offences and Sanctions
(Summary)
Offense: Use of E-Library facility for viewing pornographic material.
Penalty: Outright Dismissal
Offense: Use of E-Library facility for downloading i.e. movies, music.
Penalty: Suspension from use of Library / University or Dismissal.
Offense: Indecent dressing
Penalty: Disallow entry into the Library. If repeated, suspension from use of library/University.
Offense: Use of mobile phone within the library.
Penalty: Confiscation of phone and suspension from use of Library /university
Offense: Loss of borrowed material
Penalty: Borrower shall pay twice current cost inclusive of handling fee of missing item.
Offense: Unlawful acquisition of Library material/stealing
Penalty: Suspension from the University/outright dismissal.
Offense: Malicious damage to library material including writing, defacing books, /furniture equipment etc.
Penalty: Replacement of material and or suspension/dismissal.
Offense: Failure to pay library fines or return borrowed library material.
Penalty: Withholding of clearance for academic results/certificates until the fines are paid or item returned/cost recovered.
Offense: Noise making within and around library.
Penalty: Suspension from use of library.
