First Black African to chair G200 Youth Summit visits PUC (his alma mater)

Mr Steven Blessing Ackah, the first African to chair the G200 Youth Summit, has indicated his determination to promote the establishment of incubation centres in tertiary institutions in Ghana. Such centres, according to him, could augment or even replace the internship programmes of these higher educational institutions across Africa.

He explained that incubation centres, offer students practical and technical know-how of what the job market entails, and further give enterprising students, entrepreneurial skills, and actual opportunities to start and own businesses even before they exit the university.

Mr Ackah made the remarks on Friday, December 15, 2017, when he visited his alma mater, Pentecost University College (PUC) at the Sowutoum campus in Accra, Ghana.

A proud 2014 alumnus of PUC, Steven read BSc Banking & Finance and had the opportunity to be mentored by Prof Steven Addai, former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

In an interaction with Apostle Dr Daniel Walker, Rector of PUC, Mr Blessing Ackah, commended PUC for its mentorship programme and urged authorities to continue to maintain it as an integral part of the University’s curricular.

Apostle Dr Walker, in congratulating Mr Ackah, further assured him of PUC’s preparedness to partner and assist him, and for that matter any of the alumni of the university, in their individual and collective endeavours saying “We are solidly behind you, and we will partner and support you in all your initiatives. We are very proud of your achievements”.
