PUC Students Elect New SRC Executives

Students of Pentecost University College (PUC) have elected a new batch of Students' Representative Council (SRC) Executives to steer the affairs of the student body for the 2018/2019 Academic Year.

After weeks of rigorous campaigning, PUC students got the chance to cast their votes on who should lead the student front in the 2018/2019 Academic Year. The Elections held on May 11 could not produce a winner for the Office of the President; consequently, a runoff was held on May 18 in accordance with the SRC’s Constitution (Article 37, Clause 6).

In what seems like a fiercely contest Elections, disappointments and thrills were evident. After the voting process, Alswel Annan and Hannah Serwaa Boafo (Team HANSWELL) pulled 642, representing 53.37%, of the total valid votes cast while Richmond Anane-Simon and his running mate, Samuel Henovi (Team RASSAM) pulled 561, representing 46.63%, of the total valid votes cast.

Even though there was no winner in the first round of Elections for the Presidency, other candidates who contested for other positions won leaving the runoff to determine who would be the next President of the Council.

According to the Electoral Commissioner, Ms. Charlotte Tawiah, " the Elections were peaceful, free and fair.
