Message from the Dean
Our faculty is built on the core philosophy of the Pentecost University College which is, “to be on the cutting-edge of the dissemination of knowledge, quality education, research and training for the purpose of producing an excellent human resource base to meet the demands of our country’s development”.
The Faculty of Business Administration is designed to provide more options and flexibility for students with interest in Business Studies. Thus, its programmes are built around the concept of interdisciplinary approach which accords students the opportunity to re-order or redefine existing constructions of knowledge in Business Studies and to discover new meaning and relationships between facts, theories, and methods.

Department of Communication Studies
The BSc. Administration (Accounting) is designed to prepare students for various career opportunities in Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, and General Business Management. The Programme aims to achieve a level of both theoretical and practical understanding that is generally useful in accounting environment.
The course structure is designed to ensure presenting of a broad range of topics, which will enable the students not only to understand Financial Accounting information but also link it to broader strategic decisions.
This programme is also intended to provide a foundation on which the graduate can build an accounting career through expanded experience and/or further education.
This course is designed to prepare students for various career opportunities in Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, and General Business Management with special emphasis on Information Technology.
The Programme seeks to expose students to both theoretical and practical principles which are generally useful in accounting environment.
The course structure is designed to ensure that students become familiar with Information Technology and are able to apply such knowledge to Accounting, Auditing Taxation and General Business Management.
This program is also intended to provide a foundation on which the graduate can build an accounting career through expanded experience and/or further education.
The BSc. Administration (Banking & Finance) Degree programme is designed to prepare students for various career opportunities in banking and in the capital markets.
Students are exposed to domestic, foreign and development banking. Emphasis is placed on banking procedures, controls and accepted banking principles.
Students are expected to gain in-depth knowledge and understanding in Banking System and Methods of Control, Money Market, Government Monetary Policies and relationship with Inflation and Employment.
Additionally, students will develop and apply the requisite skills in Corporate Financial Planning and Control.
This program is intended to provide a foundation on which the graduate can build a career in banking through expanded experience and/or further education.
BSc. Administration (Insurance with Actuarial)
Course Philosophy
The course provides a sound grounding in the mathematical, statistical and financial concepts needed for insurance and actuarial work. The course is designed in a way that will enable students to take the United Kingdom professional insurance examinations with ease.
Fourth year classes will provide an excellent preparation for the later professional examinations. Modern business requires not only technical ability, but also communication skills and familiarity with computers. Students will make use of various software packages, including Minitab, R and Excel.
Several classes will include project work, in which students will develop their abilities in report-writing. Further communication skills are developed through student presentations.
Most of our graduates can successfully find employment as trainee actuaries with insurance companies or firms of consulting actuaries. Some students can chose careers in other fields such as banking, stockbrokerage and financial mathematics
Career Prospect
Graduates can find employment in Insurance firms as trainee Acturists or with insurance and fund management companies or other firms as consulting Actuarists. Graduates can choose careers in other fields such as banking, Stockbrokerage as financial analysts and as Mathematicians and Researchers.

BSc. Administration (Insurance)

BSc. Administration (Marketing Management)
The BSc. Administration (Marketing) Degree programme provides an opportunity for students to acquire knowledge and training for careers in sales and marketing, in addition to a broad program of study encompassing all phases of marketing.
Students are expected to gain in-depth knowledge and understanding in Marketing Practice, Marketing Mix as working tools of a marketer, Sales Strategies, Marketing Strategies, Marketing Analysis and Planning, Marketing models, Management of the Marketing Function, Marketing Research, Branding and Integrated Marketing Communication as well as general business areas necessary for a marketer.
There is an internship Program as well which will allow students to apply what is learned in the classroom to real-life situations in the business sector. Also, the programme will enable students to write any Professional Marketing examination Worldwide with ease and pursue marketing to any level. Thus, students will gain the understanding of how markets evolve the general marketing environment and the practice of Marketing.
BSc. Business Administration (Logistics & Supply Chain)
Course Philosophy
The B.Sc. Logistics & Supply Chain Degree programme provides an opportunity for students to acquire knowledge and training for careers in the total Supply Chain suites, in addition to a broad programme of study encompassing all phases of Logistics Operations.
Students are expected to gain in-depth knowledge and understanding in Logistics, Purchasing, Stores & Warehousing, Transport, Shipping, and Clearing & Forwarding management.
The internship Program will allow students to apply what is learned in the classroom to real-life situations in the business sector. Thus students will gain the understanding of hosting sea vessels which dock at the harbours and the management of supply chain network in order to achieve maximum visibility of product and service offering.

BSc. Administration (Human Resource Management)
The BSc. Administration (Human Resource Management) Programme provides an opportunity for students to acquire knowledge in the HR management practice and at the same time update and sharpen their personal management skills.
The programme provides the requisite knowledge and understanding about the factors, which influence the behaviour of people at work, including organization structures, job design, team/group mechanisms, management/leadership styles and the process of effective human resource management.
The internship programmes will allow students to apply what is learned in the classroom environment and obtain the valuable practical experience needed to become competent Human Resource managers.
The Programme is also intended to provide a foundation on which the graduate can build a career on Corporate Governance through expanded experience and/or further education.
BSc. Business Administration (Corporate & Business Development Studies)
Course philosophy
The Corporate & Business Development Studies has four complementary components. The first provides for the appreciation of Business ethics and practice. Students will look at the practical significance of the role and potential of contemporary problems in the development of Organizational Behaviour and Corporate culture.
The second component focuses on corporate governance. The relevant structures processes and systems of corporations – shareholding, board of directors meetings, code of business conduct and practices etc.
Component three consists of courses in Tax issues, Human right issues, and gender perspectives on corporate governance and Union/employee/industrial relations.
The final component is research and writing. Research methodology, minutes taking and writing skills, corporate procedures (AGM, the conduct of shareholder issues etc)
Career Prospects
Graduates from the department can take on roles such us:
