PUC Rector wins Most Outstanding CEO award
Apostle Dr. Daniel Okyere Walker, Rector of PUC, was awarded the Most Respected CEO (Private Universities Category) at 2019 Edition of the Ghana Industry Awards held at the Accra International Conference Center last week.
The Ghana Industry CEOs Awards is an annual awards scheme aimed at identifying and recognizing the most outstanding chief executives in corporate Ghana across a wide range of sectors.
Apostle Walker beat other nominees such as Dr. Patrick Awuah of Ashesi University, to emerge winner in the category.
The PUC Rector was also awarded the most outstanding CEO of Private Universities for 2019 at the UMB Ghana Tertiary Awards 2019 held on the same day at the Pentecost University College.
The UMB Ghana Tertiary Awards is an annual tertiary award which serves as a platform to honour some outstanding people who have played key roles in all tertiary institutions. It also seeks to honour students whose lives are changing society.
This year’s edition was under the theme, “Awarding students whose lives are changing the society”.
Apostle Dr. Daniel Walker, who is also an Executive Council Member of The Church of Pentecost, is noted for very good leadership skills and exceptional qualities. Since his assumption of office in 2016, he has continued in the tradition of previous rectors by building a culture of discipline and academic excellence at Pentecost University College. Apostle Dr. Walker has led PUC to some laurels including the award as Best Private University in Ghana for the year 2019 at the 2019 PUSAG Awards. He has also been credited with actively working towards improving infrastructural facilities at the college.
