VC’S WELCOME MESSAGE TO FRESH STUDENTS OF PU

Dear Fresh Men and Women of Pentecost University, it’s my pleasure to welcome you to the University A+. Indeed, you have come to one of the fastest-growing and most reputable universities in Africa, known for outstanding academic and ethical education. I hereby join your families and friends to congratulate you on attaining this.

Brothers and sisters, now that you have become part of Pentecost University, I encourage you to fully engage in the University A+ agenda. By this agenda, the University is keen on a rigorous academic environment that will build your skills to solve real-life problems with integrity. Whether you have been admitted to the Faculty of Law, Physician Assistantship, Nursing and Midwifery, IT and Engineering or Theology, the University is well-equipped to set you on a sound footing for great accomplishments in your chosen field.

Administratively, we have a robust IT infrastructure, well stocked physical and electronic library, relevant lab gadgets and experienced faculty that will make your academic journey fruitful. We also have well-laid-down structures from the departmental and hall Management levels that ensure the smooth operation of the University and efficiently resolve issues.

Beyond academics, I want to assure you that you will find fulfilment in many of our extra curriculum activities. For example, the PU Mentorship will connect you to staff and experienced individuals for guidance and support through the academic year. There are also vacation jobs, and student work experience projects among others that are meant to build real-world corporate skills in you. Not only that, there are University Assembly and other missionary activities the University coordinates in and outside the campus that will shape your Christian life and ministry.

Having said the above, my dear ones, let me use the opportunity to mention that Pentecost University is well established in the committee of Universities in Ghana and has won many prestigious awards in recent years. Some of them include the Overall Best Nursing Schol in Ghana, the Overall Best IT, and the Overall Best Private University among others. Besides, Pentecost University received the West Africa International Award of Merit in 2022 and the West Africa Press Ltd and the Best University of Religious Values, also, in 2022 by the National Clergy Association of Ghana.

Clearly, my brothers and sisters, you can see that, on our part as a university, we have put in the necessary structures and are well prepared to shape you towards your dreams. I hereby call on you to play your part to make this a reality. As such, I entreat you to be rigorous in your studies. This will require a commitment to the fundamental academic discipline which includes regular attendance to lectures, seminars, and tutorials, timely submission of course works, and assignments, personal discipline in when to wake up, do your devotion, studying and playing and avoiding distractions.

Another requirement needed for studies here at PU is a personal responsibility. So, you are entreated to follow up with payment of your fees as well as programmes and course registration. Be interested in information that will help you keep up with your role as a student because personal responsibility is key to growth.

Having said this, it is my prayer for you and your families and all who are connected to your education that God almighty who is the very foundation of Pentecost University will guide you, protect you and provide for you throughout your stay here in Jesus’ name.
