Welcome to Pentecost University Postgraduate Studies and Research (PgSR) Directorate, where postgraduate studies serve as a pathway to continuous learning, career advancement, and personal development. At the heart of the Directorate lies a commitment to promoting a transformative, enriching and rewarding learning experience that imparts advanced knowledge and shapes individuals into ethically grounded leaders.
The PgSR runs a diverse range of programmes covering Theology, Business Administration, Law, Engineering, Communication Studies, Nursing and Midwifery, Physician Assistant Studies, Herbal Medicine, Actuarial Science, Information Technology, Built Environment. It has collaborative MSc programmes with two top UK universities – University of Salford and Buckinghamshire New University (BUCKS), and affiliations with University of Ghana (UG) and the University of Cape Coast (UCC). The aim is to produce a critical mass of professionals who would contribute to sustainable national and global socio-economic growth and development.
As a Directorate committed to excellence, our vision, mission, and goals are aligned with the evolving needs of students, industries, and the global community. In order to achieve this, the Directorate’s strategic plan provides a roadmap that will position PU to become a centre of both academic and professional excellence, promoting a culture of innovation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and positive societal change.
Pursuant to our efforts to develop the total personality of our graduate students, the PU PgSR Directorate has instituted the “Servant Leadership” and Practitioner’s Forum” concept.
The Servant Leadership (SL) concept involves inviting various leaders who have demonstrated Christian Principles in leadership to share their experiences, to inspire, demonstrate authentic leadership, and inculcate core values into our graduate students.
The Practitioner’s Forum (PF) on the other hand is a platform where students, faculty members, and professionals from industry are invited to make a presentation on various relevant topics.
The objectives of these two programmes are to:
- Create a platform for professionals from industry to share their experiences.
- Enable our graduate students to network with industry players.
- Provide a very welcoming and friendly educational community dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in knowledge and integrity to serve the present and future generations of our society.
While everyone’s academic journey is different, the advantages of engaging in postgraduate study, advanced research and professional degrees are immense. These advantages range from enhancing personal lives and professional opportunities to increasing income and establishing yourself as a recognised leader and expert in a chosen field.
Admission to PU’s Post-Graduate Studies & Research programmes is very competitive, yet we welcome applications from individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Foreign applicants must have an English version to be considered for admission. All foreign qualifications would be referred to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) for determination of equivalences and eligibility for admission to tertiary institutions in Ghana (National Accreditation Board Act, 2007 [Act 744 (2(2b)].
