Odorkor Area of the Church of Pentecost supports PUC Students during COVID-19 Lockdown
The Odorkor Area of the Church of Pentecost (CoP) has donated food items and an amount of GHS1000 to some students of the Pentecost University College (PUC) presently on campus.
The students include some International students who could not go home following the suspension of lectures, student volunteers at the Pentvars Radio and some student leaders.
The items donated include bags of rice, cooking oil, Gari and other food items.
At a presentation ceremony held at the campus of the college at Sowutuom yesterday, the Area Head of Odorkor, Apostle Patrick Aseyoro, said they were touched when they got information that there were some students on campus, particularly, International students who required some help.
He said, immediately they got the information they mobilised some resources to assist the students.
He urged the students to make the best out of this challenging time and consider this as an opportunity to get closer to God.
Rector of PUC, Apostle Dr. Daniel Walker, said he was impressed by the swiftness with which the Area came to the aid of the students when he approached them for assistance.
He advised the students to respect the lockdown directives by the government and observe safety protocols.
On behalf of Management of the University, the Rector also presented some items including milk, tinned fish, eggs, toilet roll and sachet water among others to the students.
Public Relations Officer of the University, Dr. Daniel Nkrumah, on behalf of PUC and the students expressed appreciation to the CoP Odorkor Area, and said the donation was timely and would help address the nutritional needs of the students.
The SRC president, Mr. Daniel Asomani and a representative of the International students also expressed appreciation to Management of PUC for the kind gesture.
