GCB BANK DONATES CHEQUE TO COPCEF
GCB Bank Limited has donated a cheque of ten thousand (10,000.00) Ghana cedis to The Church of Pentecost Chairman Education Foundation (CoPCEF).
In a brief ceremony at the Pentecost University campus in Sowutuom, Mr Maxwell Ampiaw- Kwening, a Relationship Manager at GCB Bank”s head office said the gesture was to support The Church of Pentecost in its quest to educate the youth.
‘GCB Bank has taken a special interest in The Church of Pentecost and its people-centred initiatives. That is why we decided to contribute to COPCEF to help educate a workforce that will transform society”, he said.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the COPCEF, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Kwame Boasiako Omane-Antwi expressed gratitude to GCB for the gesture. ‘In fact, this offer came as a big surprise to us’, he said and also expressed the University’s gratitude to the Bank.
“This money would be put into a use that will make all stakeholders proud,” he assured the officials.
COPCEF is an educational initiative of the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost.
It’s objective is to offer financial support to students to pursue tertiary education.
Last year, The Church of Pentecost sponsored 392 students to Pentecost University to pursue various programs.
The Church, therefore, seeks to increase the number of beneficiaries through the Foundation every year.
