International Students Commend Pentecost University

International Students at Pentecost University have commended the management of the University for creating a congenial, safe environment and outstanding services to them. They said the University has consistently offered diverse support to them. They particularly lauded the Office of Student Experience, Diversity and International Relations and its Manager Dr. Denise Anatsui.

The commendation came when the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua called a meeting of reps of the over 15 countries whose citizens are studying at various levels in the University. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss modalities for enhancing their experience at Pentecost University.

The VC in opening the meeting thanked the students for choosing to study in Ghana and in Pentecost University in particular. He assured them that the University will continue to keep the fees for international students close to their local counterparts. He added that they will dedicate a hostel facility for international students. He, therefore, encouraged them to channel all concerns and suggestions they may have from time to time to the SEDIR office for swift and proper resolution.

On his part, the Patron of the International Students Association Dr. Richard Afedze assured the students of his continuous willingness to seek and promote the welfare of all International Students.

Some students who participated in the meeting expressed satisfaction with the VC for the encounter. According to the president of the International Students Association Ms Grace Amarachi Brown from Nigeria, “I am glad to be informed at first hand by the VC about steps that the University is taking to make our study experience even better.” Also, Mr. Clinton Estu from Cameroun said Pentecost University has made it convenient to feel at home “though my home is many miles from here.”

In all, the students pledged to be good ambassadors of the university in their respective countries. They also promised to actively promote the university to their countrymen and women who are seeking to study abroad.

Pentecost University is a host to many International Students in Ghana. Currently, it has students from over 15 countries studying at various levels. The countries include Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroun, Central African Republic, and Congo. Others are Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea, Mali, Nigeria, Sierra Leon, Slovakia, and Togo.

The meeting was organized by the Office of Business Development and Corporate Affairs with support from SEDIR.
