The Meat was Served because it was Reserved – VC to Staff
The Vice-Chancellor of Pentecost University, Aps. Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua, gave an earnest opening at Day 2 of the University’s Staff & Management Fasting and Prayer Retreat on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.
Leading the prayer time, Aps. Prof. Agyapong-Kodua urged staff to pray for divine reservation: “What goes ahead of you is extremely important. What is said of you ahead of time is extremely important. If you wait till you get there, you can be delayed. But we have the opportunity to reserve seats ahead of time. Pray to God to go ahead of us to reserve seats and speak on our behalf. Tell Him to reveal Pentecost university to those who matter”.
Referring to 1 Samuel 9:23, the Vice-Chancellor encouraged Staff to pray for God to speak ahead of them and make reservations concerning the different aspects of their lives: “Reservations concerning your health; reservations concerning your finances; reservations concerning your promotion; reservations concerning your spiritual growth. This is the time to ask God for something. Anything you need in your life, you are praying to reserve it. If you’re struggling in any area of your life, you’re declaring that ‘I am overcoming it in 2022’. The meat was served because it was reserved”. He prayed for higher heights and excellence for the entire university community.
Giving the Word of Exhortation under the theme “Pentecost University as an Army to Possess the Nations”, the Chaplain of the University, Rev. Nelson Adu, said that Pentecost University is “an army raised by God and hopefully, the University A+ Agenda would not merely be a slogan but we will work hard to make it a reality”.
Reading from Exodus 17, Rev. Adu urged staff to eschew complacency and complaints: “It took the Israelites 40 years to get to the Promised Land because of their attitude. Pentecost University is an army and there are many battles to be fought. We should not keep complaining. We should release resentment and bitterness. We should steer clear of slander. We should fight mediocrity. Otherwise it will be difficult for us, as an army, to get to the Promised Land”.
After another heartfelt prayer time led by a staff member, Mr. Bright Amoako, the Vice-Chancellor brought the two-day event to a close. He entreated staff to be truly committed to the university: “After we have done all this, we must allow the grace of God to work in us to show commitment to this university. We should not downplay the spirituality of this institution. I want to personally appeal to all of us to be uniquely committed in 2022 to our work and the activities of the university”.
