Pentecost University Supports Education in Afram Plains E/R Ghana.
Pentecost University has rolled out teaching support for schools in the towns of Afram Plains in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The intervention is in collaboration with the Afram Plains Area of The Church of Pentecost, the Afram Plains North and South Directorates of the Ghana Education Service and the Afram Plains North and South District Assemblies.
To this end, the University sent some of its most brilliant, disciplined and people-centered students to teach in schools in the area, during the first semester vacation. Through the District Education Directorates, the students have been posted to schools that need their services the most. In addition to teaching, the students are involved in missionary activities including house-to-house evangelism, community and schools’ outreaches.
According to the Vice-Chancellor of Pentecost University, Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua, the project aims at supporting education in rural communities, in particular, with teachers and, at the same time, expose the students to rural life and realities of challenges that they are being prepared to solve. The VC added the project is also part of The Church of Pentecost’s vision to equip the Church to possess the nations for Christ. “Through this, young people are being exposed to real life missions’ activities and interventions that are required to glorify the name of Christ Jesus.” … the VC said.
On his part, the Afram Plains Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Aps. Victor K. Asamoah, said the project has been helpful. He said “I commend PU for this excellent project because the students in my Area are so excited to see the University students, and it is clear that it will make a huge impact on the lives of the people.”
