Introduction

The Centre for Strategic Philanthropy & Social Investment (CESPSI) is an innovation and capacity-building hub of Pentecost University established to advance research, training, practice, and partnerships in philanthropy, social investment, and community transformation across Africa.

CESPSI works at the intersection of academia, faith, practice, and policy—equipping professionals, institutions, churches, NGOs, corporate bodies, and young leaders with the knowledge, tools, and systems needed to transform communities through structured, accountable, and impactful social investment.

Vision

To be Africa’s leading academic and practice-oriented hub for philanthropy, social investment, and community transformation.

Mission

To build the capacity, coordination, accountability, and visibility of individuals and institutions engaged in philanthropy and social impact through research, training, partnerships, and innovation.

Core Objectives

  • Provide effective governance, operational systems, and infrastructure for sustainable impact.
  • Conduct African-led research in philanthropy, social investment, and faith-based development.
  • Develop professional and academic programmes that equip practitioners and leaders for social transformation.
  • Create platforms for documentation, learning, and knowledge dissemination.
  • Forge strategic partnerships and mobilise resources for community impact initiatives.
  • Support churches, NGOs, corporate organisations, and youth groups to design and implement structured social investment models.
