CITI TV, ZOOMLION FUMIGATE PUC
Citi TV, in partnership with Zoomlion Ghana Limited, has fumigated Pentecost University College as part of efforts to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The exercise is part of a Corporate Social Responsibility programme by Citi TV and Zoomlion in selected tertiary institutions in the country.
The others are the University of Ghana, University of Professional Studies and the Central University.
A statement from Citi TV said the “initiative by the company seeks to keep the campuses safe and clean for use when academic work resumes as schools are on forced break as part of government’s measures to curtail the spread of the coronavirus pandemic”.
According to the Managing Director of Citi TV and Citi FM, Samuel Atta-Mensah, the gesture is in response to the President’s call for support from organisations and individuals to help fight the pandemic.
Rector of PUC, Apostle Dr. Daniel Okyere Walker, in response expressed gratitude to the two organisations.
“We at Pentecost University College are thrilled by this gesture and believe that it is critical to ensuring that our universities are safe as we prepare for the resumption of academic work on the various campuses”.
He urged other companies to support academic institutions, particularly, in these challenging times.
He admonished Ghanaians to abide by the lockdown directives by the government to help control the rate of infection.
Apostle Dr. Walker also advised persons who have been infected or contact traced and in quarantine not to flee isolation centres as that could threaten their own lives and the lives of others.
