Message from the Dean of Student Affairs

On behalf of Management, I warmly welcome you all to Pentecost University (PU). PU is a faith-based University A+ with a vision to be a distinguished Christian University known for excellence in teaching, research, and community impact and its mission is to develop resourceful and value-driven graduates, whilst generating and disseminating knowledge through research and innovation in partnership with industry, commerce and the public sector. This means that PU upholds Christian principles and virtues which seek among other things to provide holistic education to produce scholars who are fully prepared to acquire the knowledge and at the same time catch the fire to serve their generation and help transform society for the betterment of life and morality.
As a faith-based University, the kind of education it gives to students aims at training the Head, Heart, and Hand; in other words, the type of education that equips students with academic knowledge; trains them to become morally sound and helps them to obtain the needed skills for the job market. PU has seasoned and God-fearing lecturers and staff and it is a place of excellence that empowers students to serve.
The Office of the Dean of Student Affairs (ODS) works with several officers to provide services to students. This office’s main objective is to allow students to explore, identify, examine, and develop their potential.
The ODS is responsible for the welfare of Junior Members of the University concerning academic, residential, and social matters. In particular, the ODS is responsible for handling all matters related to students’ accommodation in halls of residence and other hostels to help and facilitate a conducive environment for students’ academic, residential, and social welfare.
The office liaises with the office of the Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Deans and Heads of Departments, Hall Tutors, Residential Management Committee, the Student Representative Council (SRC), and other units on all matters affecting the welfare of students.
The Office of the Dean of Student Affairs provides a proactive and responsive representation to the University about ways of enhancing the quality of student’s life.
It also maintains cordial relations among the various student groups and the students as a whole so that they can obtain optimum benefits from their university experience.
The ODS promotes and supports student learning and is responsible for the quality of students’ life on campus. We help students overcome obstacles that may impede their ability to have a successful and enjoyable student experience.
We provide opportunities to make a successful transition to and through the university environment. We also provide appropriate information, guidance, and support to students to create a healthy and conducive environment. We aim to provide intellectual, social, physical, and professional development to our students through the provision of responsive and accessible services in a caring manner. We are fully committed to the general welfare and development of all our students.
The office also oversees the running of the following Units: Mentorship Unit, the Student Mentorship Programme aims to contribute to the personal, relational, intellectual, professional, and spiritual development of our students.
Student Support Unit which seeks for attachment placement for our students to enrich their knowledge in the industry to make them very marketable at the end of their study at PU, and the International Students Office which also promotes and coordinates all University external relations, staff and student exchange programmes, and international student’s welfare. The Office mandate is to positively project PU to the outside world as a world-class higher learning destination for local and International Students.

- Letters of introduction for attachment and opening of bank accounts for students.
- One-to-one counselling services to students.
- Settling of disputes among students.
- Offering support and advice to SRC.
- Collaborating with Hall Tutors to supervise the administration of Safo, Yeboah and Arnan Halls.
