Pentecost University Hosts Youth Platform for Africa On Entrepreneurship & Leadership
Pentecost University is hosting a Two-day Entrepreneurship and Leadership Seminar in collaboration with Youth Platform for Africa, a youth development advocacy organization. The first day of the two-day seminar dubbed, “Raising Champions in the 21st Century” was on Tuesday December 30, 2021 and it was attended by participants within and outside the University.
The Chief Executive Officer for Youth Platform for Africa, Rev. Richard Dziwornu – an ardent youth empowerment advocate – when addressing students and guests, said: “this is a time to deliberate on issues. We can fight our own battles if we are united as youths”.
The main speaker, Rev. Nana Osei Dwamena, who represented Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, expressed his excitement about the seminar. Rev. Dwamena said such seminars are very important and asked students to take advantage of them. Recounting his own entrepreneurial journey, Rev. Dwamena observed that our society lacked people of integrity. According to him, “it’s a lie to say that young people cannot succeed: you can succeed at a young age if you have integrity”.
The speaker further motivated participants to be determined and pursue their dreams and vision but stressed on the need to start early. According to him, “we are in a dispensation where people are looking for fresh minds and brains to achieve something in Ghana and so do it young but be a person of integrity’’.
Answering a question bordering on the financial limitations to starting a business, Rev. Dwamena enlightened participants on Crowdfunding and Angel Investment as two opportunities that participants can explore.
Before the forum came to an end, Rev. Nelson Adu, the University Chaplain, excitedly introduced a student awardee to participants. James Jabong, a level 300 Communication student of Pentecost University had been awarded the Tertiary Student Blogger of the Year. He received a citation, a plaque and a medal.
On Thursday, December 2, for Day Two (2) of the seminar, Pentecost University will host, among other special guests, some Members of Parliament and Ministers of State.
