The B.Sc. Business Administration (Corporate & Business Development Studies) has four complementary components. The first provides for the appreciation of Business ethics and practice. Students will look at the practical significance of the role and potential of contemporary problems in the development of Organizational Behaviour and Corporate culture.
The second component focuses on corporate governance. The relevant structures processes and systems of corporations – shareholding, board of directors’ meetings, code of business conduct and practices etc.
Component three consists of courses in Tax issues, Human right issues, and gender perspectives on corporate governance and Union/employee/industrial relations.
The final component is research and writing. Research methodology, minutes taking and writing skills, corporate procedures (AGM, the conduct of shareholder issues etc)
Career Prospects
Graduates from the programme can take on roles such as:
- Advisory positions in offices of CEOs
- Headship of Corporate Affairs Departments or Units
- Facilitation of board meetings as Company Secretaries
