PUC is the Best Private University for Communication Studies in Ghana

History was made when Pentecost University College, the Most Outstanding and Overall Best Private University in Ghana for 2019 was also adjudged the Best Private University for Communication Studies in Ghana for 2019 at the just ended 13th Annual PUSAG Congress held at the All Nations University in Koforidua.

The award is in recognition of the leading role PUC has played in training of communication professionals for national development.

Rector of PUC, Apostle Dr. Daniel Okyere Walker, in an address to the media after receiving the award expressed gratitude to God for the honour. He also thanked the leadership of the Church of Pentecost for their support to the University as well as staff and students for their hard work.

Pentecost University is among the few private universities in Ghana which has a Radio Station with a license from the National Communication Authority. That is Pentvars Radio, 96.1FM. The radio station seeks to provide a platform for engaging the university community through educative, ethical and entertaining programmes. The station also presents a platform for budding student talents to nurture their skills in broadcasting. Some of our Alumni have TV and Radio stations where our current students go for practical internships. The Church of Pentecost also has a TV Station (Pent TV) where our students go for practical internships.

The University has a Language Centre which serves as a convenient place for theoretical and practical training in two languages: English and French. It is well-resourced and provides good ambience to help students acquire and improve upon their backgrounds in both French and English. One of the objectives of the centre is to produce Bilingual Secretaries and Office Managers to serve in international companies and institutions.

PUC runs Certificate, Diploma, Degree, Masters and Professional Programmes in Business Administration, Engineering, Science and Computing, Theology, Communication Studies, Health Sciences including Nursing, Midwifery. Physician Assistantship Studies (Medical) among others. Plans are far advanced to begin a Law School soon.

Besides the regular and general academic programmes and schedules, the University has innovatively established systems such as the Community Project and Entrepreneurial Week, Reading Week, College Assembly, Mentorship, Internship and Industrial Visits to firm up the quality of its teaching resources and training methods
