Team Pentecost University College (PUC) wins mobile application development competition at hackathon contest
Team Pentecost University emerged champions in the just ended Hackathon contest organized by LEAD ONE AFRICA a leading African ICT consortium. The fierce competition brought students from various tertiary institutions to showcase their skills and creativity in the development of mobile phone applications. Participants were to develop mobile applications to solve problems in the fields of education, health, Banking & finance, law, energy, etc.
The contestants were various teams from Pentecost University college (PUC), Central University College (CUC), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST),BWisconsin International University (WIUC), Regent University College of science & Technology (RUCST) and University of Professional Studies, Accra ( UPSA).
Team PUC was awarded a cash price of GHC 2,000.00 and mentoring deals from top IT professionals in Ghana. The team built an app that facilitates the flow of information among specific groups, faculties and departments on University campuses.
Members of the team drawn from the level 400 class of the IT Department are namely: Mr. Julian Derry (team leader), Mr.Emmanuel Sampah, Mr. Joshua Kperator, Mr. Richard Kanfrah and Mr. William Boateng.
