Pentecost University Mid-Year Staff Retreat Ends on a High Note

The 2024 mid-year staff retreat of Pentecost University came to a glorious close on June 13, 2024, at the university’s main campus in Sowutuom, Accra. The two-day retreat was marked by enriching sermons and presentations aimed at enhancing the staff’s ethical and intellectual capabilities.

In the first series of sermons, Rev. Dr. Patrick Adonoo, the Head for the Department of Philosophy, Politics and Economic charged the staff to rely on the unleashing power of the Holy Spirit to become efficient and effective in their respective duties. In a similar light, Elder Dr. Bismark Owusu-Sekyere-Adu urged the staff to demonstrate the traits of God, who he described as “the embodiment of excellence,” on their respective desks.

In the final sermon, the Head Mentorship and Students Support Service, Rev. Augustine Arthur-Norman urged the staff member to make impact on the lives of the younger generations. He said, one day, we will leave the scenes and should take advantage of the University’s mentorship programme to equip the next generation. Rev. Arthur-Norman, with reference to Joshua and Moses in the bible tasked the staff to see the PU mentorship programme as a mandate to inculcate desirable knowledge and behaviour that will be useful in the next generation.

In closing the retreat, the Vice-Chancellor of Pentecost University, Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua commended the staff for their commitment to PU. He charged them to continually dwell in the “unleashing to Godly excellence” that the retreat has brought on them. Prof. Agyapong-Kouda also hinted at ongoing activities, plans and processes that will make PU continue to be a competitive employer in Ghana and beyond.

The retreat was part of Pentecost University’s commitment to capacity building, which also includes Continuous Professional Development training, PrayerFest, and other activities aimed at empowering staff to excel in their roles.
