Pentecost University Doubles Admissions This Year
Pentecost University recorded over 100 percent increase in admissions to its various programs at professional, degree, and master levels at the close of the 2020/21 first admission window. This emerged at the matriculation ceremony held for 1015 fresh students of the university on Friday 26th February 2021. The number represents a 118 percent increase on last year’s admission.
The increment according to management is attributable to internal admissions strategies and support from The Church of Pentecost. According to the Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua, the University embarked on an aggressive admissions drive that yielded positive results. He said, “before 2020 ended, we embarked on a retail admissions drive to many parts of Ghana, and by the grace of God it yielded positive results.”
He added that “apart from what we did internally, The Church of Pentecost gave us tremendous support by offering scholarships and other support schemes to some students who received admissions but could not have honored them because of financial challenges.”
This increment comes at the back of what the Pentecost University community refers to as the University A+ agenda. This agenda is aimed at making PU one of the most attractive in the world; through training of morally upright, academically excellent graduates who are capable of solving real-life problems.
This involves local and international collaborations, recruitment and retention of quality staff, and deployment of appropriate technology to enable tuition and a truly transformative work environment.
Upon closure of the first admission window, the second window will open on Monday, March 1, 2021. It is expected that the University will admit a higher number of students for the 2020/21 academic year by the close of the second window.
