Pentecost University Rolls Out Paid Vacation Job Opportunities for Students

Pentecost University is rolling out vacation employment opportunities for its students during the first-semester break. The rationale is to use the skills and abilities of the University’s own students to carry out academic and non-academic projects during the period.

According to the Acting Business Development and Corporate Affairs Manager of the University, Mr. David Kyetong Guun, the initiative is part of the University A+ agenda of PU and in response to the development needs of the University and its students. Mr. Guun said “there have been plans in the University A+ agenda to undertake some exercises during the vacation; at the same time, we saw genuine struggles some students went through when we insisted on the “full fees before exams” policy this semester. That is why in the wisdom of the VC and his key officers, the university decided to engage its own students in paid services to carry out those exercises during the vacation.” He added that “above all this, it is also a typical Christ-like response to the needs of people.”

In a flyer advertisement circulated online, successful applicants will be posted to the Corporate Affairs, Estate and Development, Library, Admissions, and Finance units of the University. The advert also stressed that “needy and International Students are especially encouraged to apply.”

According to Rev. Arthur- Norman, the Mentorship Coordinator of the University, applicants will go through a selection interview by a panel from the units that require their services. He, therefore, encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunity to learn corporate skills and earn income that they can save towards their fees.
